  • Matt Adams, 1B, Cardinals (Triple-A Memphis): 3-for-4, 2B, HR (17), R, RBI. Should at least be September call-up as extra bench bat; .342/.373/.649 in 60 games.
  • Jesse Biddle, LHP, Phillies (High-A Clearwater): 7 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 9 K. 2010 first-round pick has gotten up to 94 mph with solid secondaries; 3.23 ERA with 116 Ks in 111.1 innings.
  • Victor Black, RHP, Pirates (Double-A Altoona): 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K. 2009 supplemental first-round pick has found new life in the bullpen; 1.17 ERA with 63 Ks in 46 innings while sitting at 94-97 mph.

  • Dylan Bundy, RHP, Orioles (High-A Frederick): 6.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R (0 ER), 2 BB, 8 K. Season-high in innings while matching season-high in strikeouts; 2.57 ERA with 56 Ks in 49 innings since promotion.
  • Kyle Crick, RHP, Giants (Low-A Augusta): 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 7 K. Has not allowed an earned run in seven of last nine starts; 2.47 ERA with 97 Ks in 87.1 innings.
  • Khris Davis, OF, Brewers (Triple-A Nashville): 3-for-6, 2B, HR (2), R, 2 RBI, 3 K. Featured in Monday's Ten Pack and just keeps hitting; 6-for-13 with 13 total bases since promotion.
  • Avisail Garcia, OF, Tigers (Double-A Erie): 3-for-4, 2B, 2 R, RBI, 2 SB. Extreme tools player is starting to translate and succeeding in Double-A; 13-for-26 in last six games and .308/.357/.471 in 28 games since promotion.
  • Randall Grichuk, OF, Angels (High-A Inland Empire): 3-for-5, 2B, 2 HR (14), 3 R, 5 RBI. All-but-forgotten former first-round pick has been very good since June; .281/.319/.457 overall.
  • Alen Hanson, SS, Pirates (Low-A West Virginia): 3-for-4, 3B, 2 R, RBI. Mediocre July slowed his numbers down; still .316/.380/.551 overall.
  • Slade Heathcott, OF, Yankees (High-A Tampa); 3-for-4, 2B, HR (4), R, 3 RBI, BB, K. Raises OPS 59 points with one game; .273/.360/.488 in 35 overall.
  • John Hellweg, RHP, Brewers (Double-A Huntsville): 5 IP, 1 H, 1 R (0 ER), 2 BB, 7 K. Outstanding system debut that required just 73 pitches.
  • Tommy Joseph, C, Phillies (Double-A Reading): 3-for-5, R, RBI. Phillies system debut; a mixed bag of tools and skills with a wide range of future possibilities.
  • Marc Krauss, OF, Astros (Double-A Corpus Christi): 1-for-3, HR (2), 3 R, 3 RBI, 2 BB. Two home runs in two games as an Astro.
  • Francisco Lindor, SS, Indians (Low-A Lake County): 3-for-5, 2 R, RBI, K, SB. Second straight three-hit game; .269/.362/.377 overall.
  • Taylor Lindsey, 2B, Angels (High-A Inland Empire): 4-for-4, 3B, HR (9), 2 R, 3 RBI, BB. Surprisingly started at High-A and results have been mixed; 20-for-35 in last eight games and .299/.339/.425 overall.
  • Brad Miller, SS, Mariners (Double-A Jackson): 3-for-3, HR (2), 2 R, RBI, 2 BB. Stock changes significantly if he can hit away from High Desert; .400/.486/.633 in first eight Southern League games.
  • Mark Montgomery, RHP, Yankees (Double-A Trenton): 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K. Right-hander has among best sliders in the minors, but 90-93 mph fastball might be light for late-inning work; eight scoreless innings with one hit allowed and 13 strikeouts since promotion.
  • Mike Olt, 1B, Rangers (Double-A Frisco): 2-for-6, HR (28), R, RBI, 2 K. Could be his final minor league game.
  • James Paxton, LHP, Mariners (Double-A Jackson): 6 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K. Best start since return from DL; 3.09 ERA with 84 Ks in 78.2 innings.
  • Stephen Piscotty, 3B, Cardinals (Low-A Quad Cities): 4-for-5, 2B, R 2 RBI, K. 2012 draftee will see big bump in stock if he can somehow stay at third base; .309/.387/.457 in 25 games.
  • Jurickson Profar, SS, Rangers (Double-A Frisco): 3-for-6, R, RBI, 2 SB. Has slumped a bit of late, but we're still talking about a 19-year-old with a chance at a 20/20 season in Double-A and a .286/.358/.475 batting line.
  • Yasel Puig, OF, Dodgers (Rookie-level AZL Dodgers): 0-for-4, K. Pro debut.
  • Miguel Sano, 3B, Twins (Low-A Beloit): 2-for-5, 2B, HR (21), R, 5 RBI, 2 K. First home run since 7/19; .248/.372/.496 overall and up to 36 errors.
  • Jean Segura, SS, Brewers (Double-A Huntsville): 2-for-3, 2B, R. 7-for-16 (.438) in first four games as a Brewer.
  • Robert Stephenson, RHP, Reds (Low-A Dayton): 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 5 K. Second straight dominating Low-A start; would have much more hype if he started the season here.

Dave from Pittsburgh

Glad to see Victor Black tearing up AA, I'd like to see him promoted to AAA while Morris takes over Lincolns position in the majors.

What did you mean on twitter when you said that Polanco's tools are louder?

Who has the higher offensive ceiling of Segura and Lindor?

I think the real differentiating factor is Lindor is a clear shortstop, whereas Segura is good enough at shortstop to allow his bat to play.

Hi Kevin,
I think the Phillies system could be pretty impressive next year. They have a lot of guys that, when you look at, say that he is an interesting guy to follow. Most of that talent is at the lower levels, but in a year or two, it could be pretty impressive. Specifically, Larry Greene, Mitch Walding, Carlos Tocci, Adam Morgan, Roman Quinn, Dylan Cozens, Zach Green and Maikel Franco, to name a few. Who do you think has the highest ceiling of this group? Thank you.

That's also betting on a lot of guys in the lower levels who haven't proven anything, so it could be pretty awful next year as well. They have some stuff to dream on. But it's not a very good system right now.

To be fair, he hasn't done anything to show he's big-league ready this year.

Marc Krauss is now 5-for-11 in three games with the Astros' AA team, a double and four bombs. Who needs singles anyway? Thanks, Chris Johnson!
