Valentine’s Day is behind us, and pitchers and catchers are well into their
late-winter preparations. And while Mike Piazza and Ismael
Valdes
stretch, throw, catch and hit, fantasy players around the world
are also gearing up for some springtime action.

With all the preparation involved in playing games like roto or Scoresheet,
the players we want to draft come quickly to our minds. That’s
boring. What we really want to know is, what one player will you absolutely
NOT have on your team, and why? Use 50 words or less–we call this the
Jazayerli Rule–and remember, your submission may be published here at
Baseball Prospectus Online, so try to avoid violating local
obscenity laws.

We’ll sift through the responses and publish the funniest and most well-written
of the batch in April. One winner will receive two tickets to a ballgame in his/her
area. Two runners-up will receive a copy of Baseball Prospectus 2001.

To enter, all you need to do is send us an e-mail at
jsheehan@baseballprospectus.com.
Include your full name, e-mail
address, city, state and your response. All submissions become our
property, so if you’re writing a book that begins, "I had a
nightmare in which Mike Benjamin chased me through a deep, dark
forest," pick another player.
