On the 25th episode of the DFA podcast, Bryan is joined by Rob Mains of Baseball Prospectus to talk about the Twins, Angels, Mariners, and all the rest of the teams scrambling to find purchase in a mad AL Wild Card race. Does Miguel Sano's injury push the teetering Twins to the brink? Will the Mariners be best positioned to take the leap, or will it be the star power of Mike Trout and Andrelton Simmons that causes the Angels to surge? Then, we discuss plenty of other injuries, including those to staff aces Max Scherzer, Yu Darvish, Jon Lester, and (sigh) J.C. Ramirez. And since we can't get enough of pitcher injuries, we spend the end of the show talking about Henderson Alvarez and Dan Winkler making returns, and unfortunate moments in mid-pitch injuries.
