Looking for all of our Baseball Prospectus Day ballpark events for the upcoming season? Well, you’ve come to the right place.

Below, you’ll find the dates that we are scheduled to come to your home team’s stadium. More events will be added as the dates and specifics are confirmed.

Each event features a chance to chat with special guests in a private meet-and-greet setting, a question-and-answer session with front-office types from the host organization, a pregame meal, and a ticket to watch that day’s game with many of your favorite BP authors.

For information about a particular event and to purchase tickets, click on the ballpark/date link below. We’ll make a note below each of the events when all of the tickets are sold out.

Joe - any chance of a Toronto event?
joechris96
1/15
We tried Toronto last year but were unsuccessful with their events people. Will try again, but it's on them now to be willing to assist us.

Is there someone specific I can contact? I'd be happy to be the pest in this.

There is no doubt in my mind that their pulling out of the BP event is the reason our season nosedived. We'll never have another winning season until they amend their mistake.

I know it probably isn't possible because it being so near by. But I'd love to see an event at the March 28th/29th exhibition of the Blue Jays and Mets at Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

It is an odd event with baseball returning to Montreal and I bet you could get Jonah Keri to come with his army of Expos fans.
dshemie8
2/08
Man, I would love that. Joe, if you can do this I would be extremely happy and I'm sure many other Expos fans would as well.
joechris96
2/10
It's going to be really tough for us to pull that off, as much as I'd like to. Many of us will be in Arizona or Florida for spring training. Sorry

Will there eventually be an event around the ASG/Futures Game in Minnesota?
joechris96
1/15
There will most likely be something around the Futures Game, but it may be a little less formal.

DC?
joechris96
1/15
Yes definitely. Working on DC , Kansas City, and Baltimore. The list above is just a start.

I'd love to see something more formal around the futures game. MN needs some BP love! Perhaps Aaron Gleeman would plug it, too, which'd increase attendance.
joechris96
1/15
It's sometimes hard to do those kinds of formal events at All-Star games with so much different team personnel around. And for what it's worth, we tried to do an event in Minnesota last June with Terry Ryan already booked as a guest, and nobody signed up to attend. We had to actually cancel it for lack of interest. So unfortunately, we do need to take the market into consideration.
matrueblood
1/16
I noticed the disappearance of that event last year; I'd wanted to attend, but clearly, didn't get on it soon enough. Minneapolis isn't the world's best host city for such a thing when a big crowd is descending, either, so I'll understand if no major event comes together. It'd be good to at least do a meetup, though.

Same for me; a friend and I went to buy tickets to the Target Field event to find the event had been cancelled. If you try again we'll get in earlier.
joechris96
3/01
Ok, we'll see what we can do. We waited about 2 weeks and there wasn't a single sale. We need a minimum of about 40-50 to have an event. Thanks
brandonwarne52

Agreed as well. I was at the ballpark for every game last year and didn't even hear a whisper about an event. Happy to help move it forward as a quasi-BP alum

that's a shame that so little showed interest. If you were willing to try either MN or Chicago i would buy up as many tickets as i could. What a perfect day this event would be for a baseball fan!

I'd love to see you guys in Philly sometime. I'd help out anyway I can.

Not sure how receptive the Phillies front office would be...

Second the request for Philly, but only if Reuben shows up to talk sabermetrics with us. :)

Shit, I'd be fine with just having a tailgate before the game and drinking a few beers.

Chicago! Doesn't have to be a stadium event; I can help set up a Pizza Feed like in the old days.

Can I add a vote for Chicago? I'd help Noel with logistics too.
jalee121

Also voting for Chicago. Specifically South Side. The only better tail gaters than Sox fans are Brewers fans.

There's a lot of discussion going on right now about Chicago. Will keep you posted!

Is the Miller Park event sold out? There does not seem to be a link for the event.
joechris96
1/16
No, it's not on sale yet. We're still waiting for tickets to officially go on sale with the Brewers. The date is locked in. We just need all the ticket info.

When will the Houston Astros event with special guest Kevin Goldstein be announced?
joechris96

It's unlikely there will be a Houston event this year. We're going to be including some new cities on the stadium tour that have yet to have an event.

Any interest coming down south to Atlanta?
joechris96

We we're down to Atlanta last season. Good event. Trying to hit some different cities, but we may still come back to Georgia this year.
TheKid19
1/27
Very much looking forward to the Miller Park event this year. Out of curiosity what is a typical or good sized crowd for the BP stadium events?
joechris96
1/27
Crowds really differ from market to market. Generally there are no less than 50 in a group, but we've had as much as 250 in Texas for events as well.
aikman72
1/27
Any chance Tampa will be on the list this year?
08cubs
1/30
Is it possible to have an option to attend the event with no game tickets? Those with season tickets are paying for a seat they won't use.
joechris96
1/30
We understand completely, but unfortunately we can't split the package. It's all integrated in the price we work out with the teams.
08cubs
2/01
Thanks, Joe.

Well worth it either way.
aikman72
2/04
Why post if no one responds?
joechris96
2/04
We try to get to as many comments as we can. Apologize I hadn't answered yours yet. To answer your question about Tampa, we went there for two years and drew very little interest. We maybe had 20-25 people show up. We need a guarantee of at least 50 or it becomes very costly, and we often get stuck with tickets. Thanks

Staten Island would be a fantastic venue for an event.
joechris96

Going to try to do that. It may be during the week or a Friday night. Have to see what they can do for us there as well.

For a minor league game?

If that is possible, I highly suggest be do an event to the AA New Britain Rock Cats in an attempt to get Byron Buxton to look at us and to gush over him.

We could even probably plan to make it so we could see a couple fantastic prospects play him, like Lindor or
Shawnykid23
3/25
I would second this. Even something very informal or just a tailgate in the parking lot(no guest speakers or extras needed). Maybe just something like what you do at Foley's, but at a minor league ballpark? There seem to be a fair amount of the BP team in the Northeast, and I would guess that some, especially the prospect guys, may be here to see Buxton at some point anyway, you could schedule it around that. If not probable, could it at least be possible?
joechris96
3/25
It's more than possible, it's probable. Not sure it will be in New Britain, but there are a bunch of parks that would interest people. Jason and I just talked about it this past week. We would just get together, watch the game, maybe grab some food and just talk a lot of baseball.
Shawnykid23

Great, can't wait to hear more about it!

Pittsburgh? Please?
joechris96
2/08
I want to go to Pittsburgh. I'm hoping we can garner enough interest to make it worthwhile. We need to get about 50-60 to come out. Otherwise it won't work.
jkulik
3/06
Joe, at the expense of sounding 13, do you consider a Facebook group an accurate way to gauge interest? I know it's about as concrete as water without cement but I'm just wondering how we get you guys here.
joechris96
3/06
If you're talking about Pittsburgh, see if you can get 50 people interested and we'll see if we can get the front office to join in. We have to commit to a certain amount of tickets, and if the people don't show up, we have to eat them. So if you can garner enough interest like the people in Milwaukee did, we'd be happy to come. The Brewers fans literally went on a crusade to bring together all interested people. Now over 100 will be at our first event in Milwaukee.
hannibal76
3/08
I'm in Pittsburgh and I'd go (and could probably get a handful of others to join as well). If you create the facebook group, can you post the link?

In the process of it now. Will have one created within the week Birdland PGH.

3/09
Hey Joe,

You might want to make the group a little more accessible, if that's possible. I'd like to invite a bunch of Pittsburgh friends to join but it looks like each of us has to send a request to join the group first. Anyway, thanks for setting this up.
joechris96
3/09
You mean Joe Kulik, right? Just want to make sure since I'm not the one who set it up :)
jkulik
3/10
I'll try and figure that out Birdland
jkulik

Okay I officially have no idea how to do that. I adjusted the options so anyone can add or approve members. Maybe see if it works now? Fingers crossed.
hannibal76

Yep, that seems to work. I invited a handful of Pittsburgh baseball fans.

And yes, I meant Joe Kulik.

I hope this works out!

Any update on the potential of Pittsburgh? I think we're at that magic 60 member number in the Facebook group.

Any chance you'll come to Bakersfield, CA. I hear the meth trade is ripe this time of year?

You should all come to London.
Gotribe31

Cleveland? I have to think their front office would be extremely receptive to something like this.
joechris96
2/12
We tried Cleveland a few years ago, but couldn't stir enough interest. Perhaps we can try again, but we'd need at least 50+ people to show up.
Gotribe31

Pretty sure we can get to 50 pretty easy. Especially if Craig comes. It'd be like Beatlemania all over again.

What about an event in Arizona during Spring Training?
joechris96

We tried to do that a few years ago, but got very little interest. It's not a concentrated fan base so it's disjointed. It's just difficult to pull off.
NightmareRec0n

I know it might not be possible because ticket demand in general, but how about something in the Northeast?

I'm going to pretty much say much of your readership in concentrated in the Boston/NYC area. And my understanding is that you haven't had an event their in years.

Maybe something around Augt 16/17th for Saber Seminar in Boston? If not, something in NYC as tickets/packages might be more easily available?
joechris96
3/02
Last year was the first year we didn't have something official in NY in 3 years, mainly because of the All-Star game. Instead we did a free All-Star pre-game party at Foley's and a free Scouts roundtable at Bergino Clubhouse, both in Manhattan. The two years prior to that we had official events at Citi Field with the Mets. We also had a free Prospects and Pizza event at Foley's again a few weeks ago and 100 people showed up.

In addition, we went to Washington DC last year and will be there again this year.

My point is we have had a lot of events in that part of the country. We're also going to try to add a Baltimore event this season. The problem with Boston is that the group tickets are extremely difficult to get and there is little or no space to hold our typical gatherings with the front office at Fenway. So while we'd love to have something in Boston, logistically it's difficult.

I'm based in NY so believe me, I'm all for having northeast events. But there are a lot of factors that come into play, including schedule, demand, price, and available facilities when trying to to offer affordable events that will draw at least 50-75 people. But we will keep trying. Thanks
shakyhands
3/07
Any news on the Baltimore event? I know this sounds bad, but I'd hate to buy tickets for DC, only to have a Baltimore date go on sale after that. I know the stock answer is to go to both, but ...money
joechris96
3/07
Still working on it. Sorry. I don't know when it will be finalized unfortunately. Since the Washington event is still not on sale, and a ways away, you'll have time to purchase tickets for that one if Baltimore somehow doesn't happen. so I wouldn't worry too much.

Any updates on Chicago? Wrigley? I don't want to buy tickets to Miller Park if I can ever possibly avoid it. But I will. If you make me.
joechris96

Sorry, we haven't got into too much discussion yet on the Chicago event. There are some logistical issues at the moment we need to overcome.

Okay! Chi could use some Colin Wyers input too. I've noticed a lack of his stuff recently. I vote for him to be there if you all make it happen.

Colin isn't writing for us and he won't be at the Chicago event because he's now working for the Astros and has for the past several months :)

Joe-

What if you're a season ticket holder & already have a game ticket?

We can't separate the tickets from the event unfortunately, so it's all one price regardless. Sorry

I'm really bummed out about the Dodger event. I was bringing 4 people. It would be helpful if you would give us a ballpark idea of how many people you need to make the event work. I would have started bugging friends etc.... to buy more tickets. I thought it would sell-out easy.
joechris96
3/25
We need at least 50 people to make an event work. If we're close at the time we need to give the team a final count, say around 40, we'll still go ahead with the event...even if we have to give away some of the tickets. But we weren't remotely close with the Dodgers event. If we didn't get 30 more tickets, we would have had to bear a substantial cost for not just the tickets, but the catering that is required when you book the Loge Terrace at Dodger Stadium. We've been doing these events for a few years now and take them very seriously. We don't just cancel them unless we feel it's absolutely necessary.

May I suggest posting a deadline to buy tickets? It may spur people to make a decision and would give you some planning time if, at the deadline, an event hadn't garnered sufficient interest.
joechris96
3/27
We'll try to do that, but for now, assume we need to give a final ticket count 30 days before the event.

My wife bought 2 tickets to the LA event for my birthday, so we're bummed that it was canceled. I'm hoping for an event in Anaheim, but if not, we'll shoot for next year. Thanks for the effort and I hope all the other events pull through!

We're still trying to fit an event or two toward the end of the season. We're just running into conflicts with schedules, however. We'll do the best we can and keep everyone posted. Thanks
