  • Rangers SP Nick Tepesch (elbow) will throw live batting practice Saturday.
  • Rangers signed INF Brendan Harris to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Round Rock.
  • Angels transferred RHP Robert Coello from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
  • White Sox optioned OF Blake Tekotte to Triple-A Charlotte.

National League:

  • Braves OF Jason Heyward is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks after an X-ray on his right jaw revealed a fracture.
  • Giants 3B Pablo Sandoval (back) underwent an MRI which came back clean.
  • Mets RP Frank Francisco (elbow) allowed one run in one inning in a rehab appearance with the GCL Mets on Wednesday.
  • Brewers OF Norichika Aoki is currently dealing with right knee soreness.
  • Mets SP Jeremy Hefner (elbow) will see Dr. James Andrews next Monday for a second opinion.
  • Phillies SP Roy Halladay (shoulder) will make his next rehab start on Sunday with Double-A Reading.
  • Braves OF Reed Johnson is still having issues running due to his left Achilles injury.
  • Phillies SP Johnny Cueto (lat) planned to resume throwing Wednesday.
  • Phillies SP Jonathan Pettibone is experiencing renewed soreness in his right shoulder and will undergo an MRI.
  • Reds RP Jonathan Broxton (elbow) is expected to be placed back on the disabled list.
  • Cardinals RP Edward Mujica is nursing some soreness behind his right shoulder under his trapezius.
  • Reds SP Tony Cingrani's back felt much better Wednesday, a day after he left with a lower back strain.
  • Reds head trainer Paul Lessard said SP Johnny Cueto's (lat) throwing session Wednesday "went very well."
American League:
  • Athletics manager Bob Melvin said Wednesday that they haven't ruled out keeping C Derek Norris (toe) on the roster.
  • Athletics OF Seth Smith hasn't been available the past two days because of an eye astigmatism.
  • Rays SP Matt Moore (elbow) threw a successful 69-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday afternoon.
  • Twins SP Samuel Deduno (biceps) felt fine in a bullpen session Wednesday and expects to start this Friday.
  • Tigers C Alex Avila (concussion) could begin a minor league rehab assignment Thursday.
  • Yankees SS Derek Jeter (calf) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Thursday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
  • Athletics OF Josh Reddick will undergo an MRI after re-spraining his right wrist.
  • Red Sox DH David Ortiz left Wednesday's game against the Giants with lower back tightness.
  • Astros DH Max Stassi left Wednesday's game against the Rangers after getting hit in the face by a pitch.
  • Twins OF Aaron Hicks is expected to go back on Triple-A Rochester's disabled list after spraining his left wrist diving for a ball Tuesday.
  • Blue Jays 2B Maicer Izturis could be placed on the disabled list if his sprained left ankle doesn't improve in a hurry.
  • Angels manager Mike Scioscia said 2B Howie Kendrick (knee) needs "a little more time" before he's ready to play second base regularly.
  • Yankees SS Jayson Nix has been diagnosed with a fractured left hand.

National League:

  • Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Wednesday that RP Tanner Roark is a candidate to start a game over the next few weeks.
  • The Nationals aren't planning to recall 2B Danny Espinosa when rosters expand.
American League:
  • MLB released a statement Wednesday confirming that they found no violations by Royals 2B Miguel Tejada in connection with the Biogenesis investigation.
  • Red Sox SP Ryan Dempster will make his next start next Friday against the White Sox.
  • Rangers RP Travis Blackley is expected to make another start on Monday in Seattle against the Mariners.
  • MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez reports that Cuban first baseman Jose Abreu is likely to sign over the offseason.
  • Twins SP Liam Hendriks is likely to be recalled to start Saturday in Cleveland.
