  • Nationals SP Taylor Jordan was touched for four runs on four hits over 5 1/3 innings.

  • Pirates C Russell Martin blasted a three-run homer.
  • Pirates SP A.J. Burnett struck out nine and allowed one run in a complete-game win .
  • Rockies SP Juan Nicasio allowed four runs on six hits over 4 1/3 innings.
(65-45) Cardinals - 15 at 2 - Reds (61-51)
  • Cardinals 1B Matt Adams smacked a two-run homer.
  • Cardinals 3B David Freese finished 3-for-4 with a double, home run, two RBI and three runs scored.
  • Cardinals SP Lance Lynn struck out 11, allowing two runs over eight innings, in a victory.
  • Reds SP Mike Leake was shelled for seven runs on eight hits over five innings.
(61-49) Dodgers - 1 at 0 - Cubs (49-62)
  • Dodgers SP Stephen Fife tossed 5.1 innings of shutout ball for the win.
  • Dodgers RP Kenley Jansen picked up his 17th save of the year.
  • Dodgers C A.J. Ellis produced the lone RBI in the game.
(67-45) Braves - 4 at 1 - Phillies (50-61)
  • Braves OF B.J. Upton went 2-for-4 with a double.
  • Phillies SP Cliff Lee allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits over five innings.
  • Braves RP Alex Wood gave up just one run over six innings in his start.
  • Braves RP Craig Kimbrel picked up his 34th save.

American League:

(40-69) White Sox - 2 at 3 - Tigers (64-45) (12 innings)
  • Tigers SP Rick Porcello allowed just one run over 7 2/3 innings in a no-decision.
  • White Sox SP Andre Rienzo surrendered two runs over six innings in a no-decision.
  • White Sox 1B Adam Dunn finished 4-for-5 with a solo homer.
  • Tigers DH Victor Martinez went 2-for-3 with two walks and a run scored.
(51-60) Blue Jays - 6 at 5 - Angels (51-59)
  • Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle was charged with five runs on seven hits over six innings.
  • Angels 1B Mark Trumbo hit a three run homer.
  • Angels OF Mike Trout went 2-for-2 with a home run.
  • Angels SP C.J. Wilson allowed three earned runs on eight hits over 7 1/3 innings.

  • Rangers SP Derek Holland threw eight scoreless innings while striking out ten and giving up just four hits.
  • Rangers OF Nelson Cruz went 1-for-4 with a home run.
  • Athletics SP A.J. Griffin allowed three runs on five hits over 6 2/3 innings.

  • Mariners RP Danny Farquhar earned his second save in as many days.
  • Mariners SP Joe Saunders allowed two runs on eight hits over six innings.
  • Orioles SP Wei-Yin Chen surrendered three runs on five hits over seven innings.

  • Twins 1B Justin Morneau went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer.
  • Twins RP Glen Perkins earned his 27th save by tossing a scoreless ninth inning.
  • Twins SP Mike Pelfrey surrendered two earned runs on seven hits over five innings in a no-decision.
  • In his return to the majors, Astros SP Brad Peacock struck out 10 and allowed three runs over seven innings.
Inter League:
(56-55) Diamondbacks - 0 at 4 - Red Sox (68-45)
  • Red Sox SS Stephen Drew finished 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.
  • Red Sox SP Felix Doubront spun seven shutout innings while striking out five and giving up five hits.
  • In his return to the rotation, Diamondbacks SP Brandon McCarthy allowed two runs over 4 1/3 innings in a loss.
(56-51) Royals - 6 at 2 - Mets (48-60)
  • Royals 3B Mike Moustakas went 2-for-4 with a walk and a solo home runs.
  • Royals SP Ervin Santana fired six innings of one-run ball while striking out five.
  • Mets SP Zack Wheeler scuffled, giving up four runs -- three earned -- on five hits over five innings.
(62-49) Indians - 2 at 0 - Marlins (43-67)
  • Indians C Yan Gomes finished 3-for-4 with a run scored.
  • Indians SP Scott Kazmir twirled six shutout innings, scattering just two hits, while striking out seven.
  • Marlins SP Nathan Eovaldi allowed one run on seven hits over seven innings.

  • Rays OF Wil Myers smacked a two-run homer and walked twice.
  • Rays RP Fernando Rodney worked a perfect inning, preserving a one-run lead and earning his 27th save of the season.
  • Giants RP Guillermo Moscoso surrendered three runs on four hits over 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision.

  • Padres SS Everth Cabrera went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI.

  • Nationals placed RHP Ross Ohlendorf on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 1, with right shoulder inflammation.

National League:

  • Dodgers manager Don Mattingly expects OF Yasiel Puig (thumb) to be back in the lineup on Monday.
  • Giants SP Ryan Vogelsong (hand) could need an additional rehab start after Sunday's outing.
  • The Brewers are hoping to activate 3B Aramis Ramirez (knee) from the disabled list during their road trip that begins Monday.
  • Doctors determined after examining Pirates RP Jason Grilli (forearm) Sunday that the reliever is "making quality progress."
  • Dodgers OF Matt Kemp (ankle) will resume workouts later this week in St. Louis.
  • Mets RP Bobby Parnell (neck) will remain unavailable Sunday.
  • After throwing a simulated inning Saturday, Reds RP Jonathan Broxton (elbow) will make what could be a final rehab appearance Sunday.
  • Phillies OF Domonic Brown (concussion) will begin a rehab assignment Monday at Low-A Lakewood.
  • SP Marco Estrada (hamstring) is expected to make one more rehab start before rejoining the Brewers' rotation.
  • Brewers RP Tom Gorzelanny (elbow) is expected to miss at least one start.
  • Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez left Sunday's game with a jammed right shoulder.
  • Nationals OF Jayson Werth underwent x-rays on his right hand Sunday.
  • Rockies RP Rafael Betancourt (appendicitis) could throw a bullpen session Friday.
  • Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (finger) is expected to be placed on the disabled list.
American League:
  • Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos said Sunday that it's "very possible" both SP Kyle Drabek (elbow) and Drew Hutchison (elbow) return in September.
  • Yankees SP Michael Pineda left his start at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with right shoulder stiffness.
  • The Yankees are awaiting results of an MRI on SS Derek Jeter's right calf.
  • Athletics RP Fernando Rodriguez (elbow) has been throwing long-toss and thinks he'll be ready to throw off a mound by October.
  • Tigers 2B Omar Infante (ankle) is not ready for a rehab assignment yet.
  • SP Neftali Feliz (elbow) walked one and struck out two over an inning of work in his first rehab appearance with the Rangers' Arizona League team Friday.
  • Rays SP Matt Moore (elbow) said his game of catch from 60 feet Sunday "went well."
  • Rays RP Juan Carlos Oviedo (elbow) has begun throwing to hitters.
  • Rays RP Jesse Crain (shoulder) will resume playing catch this week.
  • Royals SP Felipe Paulino (elbow, shoulder) resumed a rehab assignment at Double-A Northwest Arkansas Saturday.
  • Athletics manager Bob Melvin is hopeful that C John Jaso (concussion) will resume baseball activities soon.
  • Red Sox RP Matt Thornton was removed from Sunday's game with a right oblique issue.
  • Royals OF David Lough left Sunday's game against the Mets with right quad tightness.
  • Rangers SP Colby Lewis (elbow) will move his rehab assignment to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.
  • Red Sox SP Clay Buchholz (shoulder) threw at "about 80 percent intensity" Sunday.
  • Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) allowed one run over 3 2/3 innings in second rehab start Sunday for Double-A Frisco.
  • Royals 2B Chris Getz (knee) will begin a rehab assignment Monday with Triple-A Omaha.
  • Royals OF David Lough is day-to-day with right quad tightness.
  • An MRI of Yankees SS Derek Jeter's right calf showed a mild strain.
