  • Cubs RP Zach Putnam underwent surgery Friday to have bone spurs removed from his elbow.
  • Reds GM Walt Jocketty expects OF Ryan Ludwick (shoulder) to return next week.
  • Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig is day-to-day with a left thumb contusion.
  • SP Ross Detwiler could miss the remainder of the season with a herniated disc in his lower back, according to Nationals manager Davey Johnson.
  • Mets 3B David Wright (hamstring) is expected to miss 3-5 weeks.
  • Rockies SP Roy Oswalt experienced a setback with his hamstring Saturday while throwing a simulated game.
  • OF Jayson Werth left Saturday's game with a tweaked groin and will likely sit Sunday, according to Nationals manager Davey Johnson.

  • An MRI to Orioles SP Jason Hammel's right forearm ruled out structural damage.

  • Rockies owner Dick Monfort said the team has yet to decide whether to pick up RP Rafael Betancourt's $4.25 million option in 2014.

American League:

  • Blue Jays SP Josh Johnson could have his next start skipped to give him more time to work through his problems in bullpen sessions.
  • SP J.A. Happ will likely rejoin the Blue Jays rotation next week, Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said.
  • SP Brad Peacock will start for the Astros on Sunday.
  • Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez will be suspended by Major League Baseball on Monday, likely through the end of the 2014 season.
