  • Athletics SP Jarrod Parker allowed two runs over six innings while striking out six.
  • Rangers SP Matt Garza allowed four earned runs on eight hits.
  • Athletics OF Yoenis Cespedes launched a two-run homer.
  • Rangers 2B Ian Kinsler hit his 10th home run of the season.

  • Mariners RP Danny Farquhar earned his first save of the season.
  • Mariners SP Erasmo Ramirez moved to 3-0 striking out six while allowing four hits.

  • Diamondbacks 1B Paul Goldschmidt slugged his 26th home run of the season.

  • Royals OF Justin Maxwell launched a go-ahead pinch-hit homer off David Aardsma.
  • Royals RP Bruce Chen was handed a no-decision allowing just one run over six innings.

  • Mets 2B Daniel Murphy went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a stolen base.

  • Giants SP Tim Lincecum allowed just one run in seven innings in a no-decision.
  • Rays OF Wil Myers hit a walkoff RBI single in the 10th inning.
  • Rays SP David Price allowed one run in nine innings while striking out five.

  • Yankees SP Ivan Nova struck out eight in seven scoreless innings.
  • Padres RP Tyson Ross yielded two runs in six-plus innings and struck out nine.
  • Yankees OF Curtis Granderson went 2-for-4 with a homer and a stolen base in his second game back from the disabled list.

National League:
  • Cubs purchased the contract of INF Donnie Murphy from Triple-A Iowa.
  • Reds recalled RHP Pedro Villarreal from Triple-A Louisville.
  • Reds optioned RHP from Curtis Partch to Triple-A Louisville.
  • Braves activated OF B.J. Upton from the 15-day disabled list.
  • Braves placed C Gerald Laird on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 26, with a kidney stone.
  • Mets recalled OF Mike Baxter from Triple-A Las Vegas.
  • Mets placed 3B David Wright on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain.
  • Dodgers RP Brandon League has been placed on waivers.
  • Padres signed SS Ronny Cedeno to a minor league contract; assigned him to High-A Lake Elsinore.
American League:
Injury Updates:

National League:

  • Brewers SP Marco Estrada (hamstring) allowed two runs on three hits over 2 2/3 innings in his first rehab start with Triple-A Nashville.
  • Cubs RP Zach Putnam underwent surgery Friday to have bone spurs removed from his elbow.
  • Reds GM Walt Jocketty expects OF Ryan Ludwick (shoulder) to return next week.
  • Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig is day-to-day with a left thumb contusion.
  • SP Ross Detwiler could miss the remainder of the season with a herniated disc in his lower back, according to Nationals manager Davey Johnson.
  • Mets 3B David Wright (hamstring) is expected to miss 3-5 weeks.
  • Rockies SP Roy Oswalt experienced a setback with his hamstring Saturday while throwing a simulated game.
  • OF Jayson Werth left Saturday's game with a tweaked groin and will likely sit Sunday, according to Nationals manager Davey Johnson.
American League:
  • An MRI to Orioles SP Jason Hammel's right forearm ruled out structural damage.
  • Athletics SP Brett Anderson (foot) will throw a simulated game Tuesday.
  • Royals 2B Chris Getz (knee) is expected to begin a rehab assignment Monday with Triple-A Omaha.
  • Rays SP Alex Cobb (concussion, blister) pitched four innings for Class-A Charlotte as part of his rehab.
  • Rangers OF Nelson Cruz exited Saturday's game after limping to first base on a groundout in the eighth inning.
  • Yankees SS Derek Jeter will take the next two days off because of a minor right calf and leg discomfort.
  • Tigers 3B Miguel Cabrera (abdomen) is hopeful to be back in the Tigers' lineup on Sunday.
Notes and Rumors

National League:
  • Mets manager Terry Collins confirmed that RP Carlos Torres has officially been moved to the bullpen.
  • Rockies owner Dick Monfort said the team has yet to decide whether to pick up RP Rafael Betancourt's $4.25 million option in 2014.
  • Rockies owner Dick Monfort confirmed the team will exercise SP Jorge De La Rosa's $11 million option in 2014.
