  • Brad Lidge will sign a one-day contract to officially retire as a member of the Phillies on Thursday.
  • Mets manager Terry Collins indicated Monday that SS Ruben Tejada and Jordany Valdespin likely won't be called up from the Triple-A Las Vegas until September.
  • CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Reds have inquired about Giants' oufielder Hunter Pence.
  • Bob Nightengale of USA Today hears the Diamondbacks and Pirates are "strong front runners" for RP Brian Wilson.
  • MLB.com's Peter Gammons reports that the Diamondbacks are shopping Ian Kennedy and Jason Kubel.

  • RP Joaquin Benoit will remain the Tigers' primary closer despite Monday's acquisition of Jose Veras.
  • RP Jose Cisnero is likely to take over at closer for the Astros in the wake of the Jose Veras trade.
  • FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal heard from a source that the Orioles are open to trading SP Dylan Bundy.
  • According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports, the Red Sox are "very much in" the running for White Sox SP Jake Peavy.
  • Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez's lawyer, David Cornwell, said on ESPN on Monday that they are prepping to appeal a suspension from MLB.
