  • Braves RP Craig Kimbrel earned his 30th save of the season.
  • Braves SP Julio Teheran threw seven shutout innings striking out six.

  • Cubs OF Nate Schierholtz homered off Sergio Romo in the top of the ninth.
  • Cubs SP Chris Rusin blanked the Giants for seven innings, allowing just three hits.
  • Despite loading the bases in the ninth, Cubs RP Kevin Gregg earned his 21st save.
  • Giants SP Madison Bumgarner allowed no runs for eight innings in a no-decision.
  • Giants RP Sergio Romo took his sixth loss after giving up a Nate Schierholtz homer in the top of the ninth.

  • Dodgers SP Hyun-Jin Ryu allowed one run in seven innings and struck out nine.

  • Rays SP Chris Archer was masterful, tossing a two-hit shutout.

  • Indians SP Justin Masterson allowed no runs for 7 2/3 innings while striking out eight.

  • Rangers SP Yu Darvish allowed one run over six innings, striking out 11, but took the loss.

  • Athletics SP Tommy Milone allowed one run over seven innings.

  • Dodgers OF Matt Kemp (ankle) is expected to return from the disabled list wen first eligible.
  • Mets 1B Justin Turner is day-to-day with right shoulder soreness.
  • Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) will start for the Braves on Monday.
  • Diamondbacks SP Brandon McCarthy (shoulder) will return to the Diamondbacks' rotation next week.
  • Brewers SS Jean Segura left Saturday's game with right forearm tightness after being hit by a pitch in the fourth inning.
American League:
  • Red Sox minor league outfielder Bryce Brentz is likely done for the season after undergoing surgery to repair the meniscus in his right knee.
  • Tigers 2B Omar Infante (ankle) won't be cleared to resume baseball activities for a week or two.
  • Yankees DH Travis Hafner will be placed on the disabled list.
  • Yankees DH Derek Jeter (quad) is expected to return on Sunday.
  • Astros 2B Jose Altuve left Saturday's game with left quad tightness.
  • Angels DH Albert Pujols (foot) will likely be placed on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday.
  • Athletics SP Brett Anderson (foot) told the San Francisco Chronicle on Saturday that he would be open to returning in a bullpen role.
  • Athletics SP Brett Anderson (foot) threw a 51-pitch bullpen session Saturday.
  • Angels OF Peter Bourjos (wrist) took dry swings Saturday.
  • Angels DH Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports Albert Pujols (foot) is likely to be placed on the disabled list.
  • Tigers RP Darin Downs (shoulder) will move his rehab assignment to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.
  • Red Sox SP Clay Buchholz (shoulder) made 40 throws off flat ground Saturday.
  • Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) threw 50 pitches of batting practice on Saturday and may start a rehab assignment soon.
  • Royals OF Lorenzo Cain exited with left groin tightness in the eighth inning on Saturday.
Notes and Rumors

National League:
  • Cardinals SP Tyler Lyons will be called up to start in Tuesday's doubleheader against the Pirates.
  • Mets SP Jenrry Mejia will make his next start Wednesday against the Marlins.
  • Mets manager Terry Collins estimated SP Matt Harvey has about 10 starts left before the team shuts him down.
  • Cubs manager Dale Sveum said Saturday that he doesn't expect SP Jeff Samardzija to be traded.

American League:

  • Angels OF Kole Calhoun will likely be recalled by the Angels on Sunday to take the place of Albert Pujols.
