  • Twins C Joe Mauer hit a two-run single in the Twins' loss to the Rays on Thursday at Tropicana Field.
  • Rays RP Jake McGee struck out two in a perfect ninth inning for his first career save.
  • Rays RP Joel Peralta earned his American League-leading 23rd hold by striking out the only batter he faced.
(44-47) Blue Jays - 2 at 4 - Indians (48-44)
  • Indians RP Chris Perez collected his 11th save of the season.
  • Indians SS Asdrubal Cabrera hit his seventh home run of the season.
  • Indians SP Danny Salazar allowed one run over six innings in his major league debut.
  • Blue Jays SP R.A. Dickey allowed three runs -- two earned -- in six innings.

  • Cubs SP Scott Baker (elbow) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Sunday with Low-A Kane County.
  • The Cubs are hopeful that OF David DeJesus (shoulder) will be able to play rehab games in Mesa, Arizona next week.
  • Giants SP Ryan Vogelsong (hand) threw a bullpen session Thursday.
  • Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig left Thursday's game against the Rockies after seven innings with an aggravated left hip.
  • Padres SP Clayton Richard will undergo season-ending surgery to shave down part of his left clavicle.
  • Braves 3B Chris Johnson, apparently bothered by a sore elbow, came out of Thursday's game against the Reds after either innings.
  • Braves OF Jason Heyward (hamstring) doesn't believe he'll require a trip to the disabled list.
  • Nationals SP Jordan Zimmermann is dealing with a sore neck.
  • Cardinals OF Matt Holliday left Thursday's game against the Cubs in the fourth inning with a right hamstring injury.
  • Brewers SP Marco Estrada's (hamstring) scheduled live batting practice session for Saturday has been cancelled after the righty tweaked his back.
  • Padres 2B Jedd Gyorko (groin) will move his rehab assignment up to Triple-A Tucson on Friday.
  • Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers said Thursday that SP Trevor Cahill (hip, shoulder) might not return until August.
  • Dodgers OF Matt Kemp (shoulder) has been told not to swing a bat for the next 5-7 days.
