  • Cardinals RP Edward Mujica earned his 23rd save of the season.
  • Cardinals SP Lance Lynn allowed two runs over seven innings while striking out seven.
  • Marlins SP Jose Fernandez allowed three earned runs in six innings.

  • Cubs RP Kevin Gregg blew his second save of the season.
  • In RP Carlos Villanueva's first start since rejoining the Cubs' starting rotation, he surrendered one run over four innings in a no-decision.
  • Pirates OF Starling Marte clubbed a solo homer, extending his hitting streak to 12 games.
  • Upon activation from the disabled list, Pirates SP A.J. Burnett surrendered two runs -- one earned -- on three hits and two walks over five innings in a no-decision.
(42-45) Dodgers - 4 at 1 - Giants (40-47)
  • Giants 3B Joaquin Arias (hamstring) went 1-for-3 with a double in his return to the lineup.
  • Giants RP Sergio Romo suffered his fourth loss of the season.
  • Giants RP Chad Gaudin gave up just one run on four hits over seven innings.
  • Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig went 2-for-4 with a stolen base.

  • Blue Jays RP Todd Redmond surrendered two runs on just one hit and three walks.
  • Twins SP Scott Diamond was doomed by a rough fifth inning, allowing six runs on eight hits and four walks over five innings.

  • Indians OF Michael Brantley went 3-for-4 with two homers, three runs and five RBI.
  • Indians SP Corey Kluber struck out 10 and gave up two runs over 6 1/3 innings in a no-decision victory.
  • Tigers 3B Miguel Cabrera was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a walk, homer, steal and two RBI.
  • Tigers SP Doug Fister allowed six runs on six hits and three walks over six innings in a no-decision.

  • Yankees RP Mariano Rivera suffered a rare blown save, allowing a go-ahead, two-run homer to Adam Jones.
  • Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda allowed zero runs on just three hits and a walk over seven innings.
  • Orioles OF Adam Jones hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the ninth inning off of Mariano Rivera.

  • Brewers manager Ron Roenicke doesn't expect 3B Aramis Ramirez (knee) to be placed on the disabled list.
  • Brewers OF Ryan Braun (hand) is hoping to be activated from the disabled list on Thursday.
  • Pirates 2B Neil Walker will undergo an MRI on his ailing right side Monday.
  • Dodgers RP Shawn Tolleson (back) could begin a rehab assignment within the next couple weeks.
  • Cardinals C Yadier Molina has been diagnosed with right knee inflammation and expects to return to the lineup Tuesday.
  • Cardinals OF Carlos Beltran is nursing a minor right oblique issue.
  • Padres manager Bud Black said Saturday that he believes 2B Jedd Gyorko (groin) will resume a rehab assignment by mid-week.
  • Rockies manager Walt Weiss said that OF Dexter Fowler (wrist) could return next weekend without going out on a rehab assignment first.
  • Brewers RP Alfredo Figaro (oblique) will be activated from the disabled list as soon as this weekend.
  • Cardinals SP Chris Carpenter (shoulder, back) told Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he would like to pitch in 2014.
  • Braves C Evan Gattis (oblique) is not expected to take batting practice until at least Thursday.

  • Indians SP Zach McAllister (finger) threw curveballs with no issues during a flat-ground session Saturday.
  • Yankees SP Michael Pineda (shoulder) is expected to be optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre when his rehab window runs out on Monday.
  • White Sox RP Jesse Crain (shoulder) is expected to begin a rehab program Monday.
  • Red Sox RP Franklin Morales (shoulder, pectoral) has resumed a throwing program.
  • Red Sox SP Clay Buchholz (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Tuesday.

  • Braves OF B.J. Upton was ejected from Sunday's game against the Phillies for arguing balls and strikes.
  • SP Ricky Nolasco will make his Dodgers' debut on Tuesday in Arizona.
  • The Dodgers have moved SP Chris Capuano to the bullpen following the addition of Ricky Nolasco.
  • The Mets are considering skipping SP Shaun Marcum's next turn in the rotation.
  • The Diamondbacks will give SP Patrick Corbin some extra rest around the All-Star break.
American League:
  • FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Red Sox are eyeing White Sox RP Matt Thornton as a possible trade option.
  • SP Lucas Harrell has been removed from the Astros' rotation.
