  • Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton hit a two-run, eighth-inning homer.

  • Diamondbacks OF Jason Kubel hit his first homer since April 29th.
  • Dodgers C Tim Federowicz delivered a three-run double in the bottom of the eighth.
  • Dodgers SP Zack Greinke pitched seven innings of two-run ball before getting hit in the shoulder by a pitch and eventually leaving.
  • Dodgers RP Kenley Jansen protected a two-run lead in the ninth for his third save.
  • Diamondbacks SP Ian Kennedy was tossed from the game after intentionally hitting Zack Greinke with a pitch in the seventh.

  • Making his major league debut, Pirates SP Gerrit Cole tossed 6 1/3 innings of two-run ball.
  • Giants SP Tim Lincecum allowed four runs -- two earned -- over 4 2/3 innings.

  • Cardinals SP Michael Wacha rebounded from a rough first inning to pick up his first major league win, allowing two runs over six frames.

  • Cardinals 1B Allen Craig singled and belted a three-run homer.

  • Angels SP Jason Vargas allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings while giving up seven hits.

  • Rays SP Roberto Hernandez allowed three runs over seven innings while striking out seven.
  • Red Sox SP Jon Lester walked a career-high seven and allowed seven runs over 4 2/3 innings.
  • Rays OF Desmond Jennings singled and smashed a pair of solo homers.
  • Red Sox OF Jacoby Ellsbury went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored.
(31-33) Indians - 5 at 2 - Rangers (38-26)
  • Indians SP Corey Kluber helped break an eight-game losing streak, allowing one run over eight innings.
  • Rangers C A.J. Pierzynski went 2-for-3 with his fifth homer of the season.
  • Indians 2B Jason Kipnis went 1-for-3 with his 14th stolen base.
  • Rangers SP Derek Holland allowed four runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings to take the loss.

  • Blue Jays SP Chien-Ming Wang allowed five runs over 7.1 innings in a no decision.

  • Athletics SP Bartolo Colon allowed zero runs for six innings to win his fifth straight start.

  • An MRI taken Tuesday afternoon on Rockies OF Michael Cuddyer's sore rib cage revealed only a bruise.
  • Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg (lat) threw a simulated game on Tuesday afternoon at Coors Field.
  • An MRI taken Tuesday morning on Marlins OF Chris Coghlan's injured lower back showed a strain.
  • Dodgers C A.J. Ellis (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with High-A Rancho Cucamonga.
  • Cardinals SP Jake Westbrook (elbow) will rejoin the Cardinals' rotation on Friday in Miami.
  • Cubs RP Zach Putnam will receive an MRI on his right elbow.
  • Padres OF Cameron Maybin will be sidelined at least six weeks with damage to the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
  • Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa is nursing with a small cut on his left middle finger.
