  • Padres SP Andrew Cashner allowed four earned runs on nine hits over six innings.
  • Padres SS Everth Cabrera went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double, a steal, four RBI and two runs scored.
  • Diamondbacks OF Gerardo Parra went 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
  • Diamondbacks SP Wade Miley was pounded for seven runs on seven hits.
(18-30) Cubs – 2 at 5 – Reds (31-18)
  • Cubs SP Travis Wood surrendered five earned runs in 5 2/3 innings in a loss.

  • Braves SP Kris Medlen went 6 innings stirking out nine in a no decision.
  • Mets SP Jeremy Hefner pitched well giving up just two runs while stirking out seven over 6 innings.
  • Braves got homers from 1B Freddie Freeman and 2B Dan Uggla.
  • Mets C John Buck hit his 11th bomb of the year.
  • Mets OF Marlon Byrd went 1-for-5 with an RBI and four strikeouts.
  • Braves RP Craig Kimbrel wrapped up Friday's suspended game with his 15th save of the year.

  • Braves SP Mike Minor tossed 7 1/3 scoreless innings while striking out ten batters and allowing only three hits. Minor also homered on the night, his 1st of the season.
  • Braves got two hits each from SS Andrelton Simmons, 1B Freddie Freeman, 3B Chris Johnson and OF Justin Upton.
  • Mets SP Dillon Gee allowed five earned runs in five innings.

  • Pirates SP Jeff Locke threw six scoreless innings to pick up his fifth win of the season.
  • Brewers RP Mike Fiers allowed four runs — including three homers — in four innings 
  • Brewers OF Carlos Gomez went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs.
  • Pirates 3B Pedro Alvarez hit two home runs and drove in three.

  • Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez had three hits, including his fifth homer.

National League:

  • Nationals SP Ross Detwiler (back) threw a bullpen session Saturday and reported feeling fine.
  • Braves RP Jordan Walden (shoulder) threw a bullpen session at Citi Field on Friday.
  • Dodgers C A.J. Ellis doesn't expect to miss any time after he was involved in a home-plate collision with Jon Jay in the second inning of Friday's loss to the Cardinals.
  • Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) allowed two runs over four innings in his first minor league rehab start Friday with Triple-A Gwinnett.
  • Padres OF Cameron Maybin (wrist) went 1-for-3 with a single in his first rehab game Friday with Triple-A Tucson.
  • Cardinals SP Jake Westbrook (elbow) will seek a second opinion next week, likely from Dr. James Andrews.
  • Cardinals SP Chris Carpenter (shoulder, neck) did not feel good after his latest bullpen session so the Cardinals are backing him off his current throwing program.
  • Cardinals SP John Gast left in the second inning of his start Saturday against the Dodgers due to left shoulder tightness.
  • RP J.J. Putz (elbow) has been playing catch from 90 feet and doing strengthening exercises, Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said Saturday.
  • Padres SP Clayton Richard (illness) will likely be activated from the disabled list on Monday.
  • Pirates 2B Chase d'Arnaud (thumb) will move his rehab assignment Saturday to Triple-A Indianapolis.
American League:
  • The Red Sox have yet determine if RP Franklin Morales (back, pectoral) will be activated this weekend or receive one more rehab start in the minors.
  • Red Sox RP Rubby De La Rosa (intercostal) has resumed a throwing program.
  • Angels SP Tommy Hanson could return for Thursday night's game against the Dodgers.
  • Angels SP Jered Weaver (elbow) is expected to start Wednesday against the Dodgers.
  • Astros RP Josh Fields (forearm) could be activated from the disabled list in 7-10 days.
  • White Sox SP Chris Sale (shoulder) played catch on Saturday and has deemed himself ready to make his Tuesday start.
