  • Indians SP Ubaldo Jimenez delivered another strong effort in a no-decision against the Mariners on Friday, surrendering two runs on seven hits over his five frames.
  • Mariners OF Raul Ibanez remained red hot in an extra-inning loss, going 3-for-5 with a two-run homer.
  • Mariners SP Brandon Maurer turned in a quality start in a no-decision, allowing three runs on five hits over his six frames.

  • Ryas RP Joel Peralta recorded the final four outs to preserve a two-run lead and earn his first save of the season.

  • Nationals manager Davey Johnson confirmed Friday that SP Ross Detwiler will not make his scheduled start against the Giants on Monday due to a lower back injury.
  • Dodgers 2B Mark Ellis (quad) was scheduled to play four innings and receive two at-bats during his rehab game with Double-A Chattanooga on Friday, but was removed from the game after just three innings and one at-bat.
  • Mets SP Jenrry Mejia (elbow) racked up six strikeouts over three innings during his first minor league rehab start with High-A St. Lucie on Friday.
  • Cardinals SPJake Westbrook (elbow) isn't expected to return from the disabled list when he's first eligible.
  • Mets prospect catcher Travis d'Arnaud (foot) can't do anything weight-bearing for another two weeks.
  • Phillies RP Mike Adams went for an MRI which revealed a mild mid-back strain.
  • The Cubs will wait to see how SP Matt Garza (lat) feels and how his bullpen session goes Saturday before they make a decision about activating him.
  • Rockies OF Michael Cuddyer (neck) isn't sure he'll be ready for activation from the disabled list on May 24 when first eligible.
  • Pirates 2B Chase d'Arnaud (thumb) began a rehab assignment with High-A Bradenton on Thursday.
American League:
  • Royals OF Jarrod Dyson has been diagnosed with a mild high ankle sprain and is expected to be sidelined for 2-to-4 weeks.
  • Twins assistant general manager Rob Antony said Friday that SP Rich Harden's rehab has been "slow" and "not very well to be honest".
  • Rangers SP Alexi Ogando (biceps) underwent an MRI which revealed no structural damage.
  • Indians SP Brett Myers (elbow) fared well in his first minor league rehab start with Double-A Akron on Friday, allowing just one hit and a walk over three scoreless innings of work.
  • Twins OF Darin Mastroianni will undergo surgery on Wednesday to repair a bone chip on his left ankle, and will be sidelined for at least six weeks.
  • Angels SP Jered Weaver (elbow) threw four innings in a simulated game Friday and feels ready for a minor league rehab assignment.
  • Athletics OF Chris Young (quad) had some cramping in his leg after Thursday's rehab game, but hopes to be activated from the disabled list on Saturday.
  • Orioles 3B Wilson Betemit (knee) began jogging in a pool on Friday.
  • Orioles C Taylor Teagarden (thumb) had the splint removed from his dislocated left thumb on Friday.
  • Athletics C John Jaso (leg) indicated Friday that his right leg is still sore, making him unlikely to be available for Friday night's game against the Royals.
  • Angels RP Sean Burnett (forearm) will pitch in a minor league rehab game Saturday with High-A Inland Empire.
  • Athletics SP Brett Anderson was diagnosed with a navicular stress fracture of his right foot and will be shut down for four weeks.
  • Red Sox C David Ross is still experiencing concussion symptoms and is likely to be re-examined Monday in Boston.

  • Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times hears that Rays prospect right-hander Jake Odorizzi is the most likely option to fill in for David Price (triceps) in the starting rotation.
  • Astros SP Lucas Harrell will move up in the rotation to start Sunday against the Pirates.
