  • OF Dexter Fowler hit two homers, the second breaking a 5-5 tie in the top of the ninth, to lead the Rockies past the Padres.
  • Padres SP Tyson Ross yielded three runs in 5 1/3 innings and struck out eight in a no-decision against the Rockies.

  • Mets 2B Daniel Murphy went 4-for-5 with four RBI and three runs scored in a win over the Twins.
  • Padres RP Huston Street took a loss after giving up two homers in the ninth against the Rockies.

  • Rockies 1B Todd Helton went 3-for-4 with an RBI double against the Padres.

  • Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin pitched three-hit ball for six innings and combined with three relievers on a shutout of the Dodgers.

  • Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw took his first loss after allowing three runs in 7 1/3 innings against the Diamondbacks.

  • Diamondbacks 3B Martin Prado reached all four times up, going 2-for-2 with two walks and an RBI.

  • Dodgers OF Andre Ethier went 0-for-4, ending his season-opening eight-game hitting streak.

  • Mets C John Buck's early-season rampage continued against the Twins, as he launched a grand slam in a 16-5 blowout victory.

  • Mets SP Jon Niese gave up five runs (four earned) over five innings in a win over the Twins.

  • Mets 3B David Wright went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs scored and a walk in a win over the Twins.
  • Phillies RP Jonathan Papelbon cruised through an easy tenth inning, preserving a 3-1 lead and notching his second save of the season.

  • 1B Ryan Howard went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a run scored, helping to lead the Phillies to a 3-1 victory over the Marlins.

  • Phillies SP John Lannan pitched well again in a no-decision against the Marlins, surrendering just one run on three hits over his six innings of work.

  • Marlins 3B Placido Polanco went 2-for-4 and plated the Marlins' lone run in a loss to the Phillies.

  • Marlins SP Ricky Nolasco pitched a solid ballgame in a no-decision against the Phillies, allowing just one run on seven hits over his six innings of work.

  • OF Andrew McCutchen blasted a solo homer in the seventh inning, leading the Pirates to a 6-5 victory over the Reds.

  • Pirates RP Jason Grilli was a bit shaky, but he managed to preserve a one-run lead against the Reds and notched his fourth save of the season.

  • Pirates SP A.J. Burnett racked up eight strikeouts while allowing three runs on six hits in a no-decision against the Reds.

  • Reds 2B Brandon Phillips blasted a pair of home runs and drove home three in a losing effort against the Pirates.

  • Braves INF Ramiro Pena launched a go-ahead two-run homer in a 6-4 win over the Nationals in 10 innings.

  • Nationals RP Drew Storen blew a save in an extra-inning loss to the Braves. Storen was filling in for closer Rafael Soriano who had pitched three straight games.

  • Nationals SP Ross Detwiler spun seven innings of one-run ball against the Braves but was handed a no-decision.

  • Reds SP Mike Leake struggled in a no-decision against the Pirates, allowing five runs on 10 hits over his six innings of work.

  • Braves SP Julio Teheran yielded four runs in six innings in a no-decision against the Nationals.

  • Braves 1B/3B Chris Johnson went 3-for-5 with a homer and two runs scored against the Nationals.
  •  C Yadier Molina went 2-for-3 with a solo homer as the Cardinals shut out the Brewers 2-0.

  • Cardinals RP Mitchell Boggs was a bit shaky in the ninth inning, but eventually slammed the door on the Brewers to record his second save of the season.

  • Cardinals SP Shelby Miller delivered an outstanding performance in a victory over the Brewers, allowing just one hit over seven scoreless innings.

  • Brewers OF Norichika Aoki went 1-for-3 and stole his third base of the season in a losing effort against the Cardinals.

  • Brewers SP Kyle Lohse pitched very well in a losing effort against his former team, limiting the Cardinals to just two runs on six hits over seven innings of work.

  • SS Starlin Castro homered off Matt Cain and delivered a game-winning double off Sergio Romo in the bottom of the ninth as the Cubs beat the Giants 4-3.

  • SP Carlos Villanueva was denied a win by the Cubs bullpen after shutting out the Giants for 7 1/3 innings.

  • Cubs RP Kyuji Fujikawa suffered a blown save, only to end up with a win, after giving up three runs in the ninth against the Giants.

  • Giants RP Sergio Romo blew his first save and took the loss after giving up two runs in two-thirds of an inning against the Cubs.

  • Cubs OF David DeJesus went 3-for-5 with a homer and a double versus the Giants.

American League:

  • A's 3B Josh Donaldson hit a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 12th to give the A's a 4-3 win over the Tigers.
  • Tigers SP Max Scherzer fanned 11 while allowing two runs in six innings against the A's.

  • Tigers 1B Prince Fielder went 4-for-5 with a three-run homer and a double against the A's.

  • SP Bud Norris blanked the Angels for seven innings in the Astros' 5-0 victory.

  • Angels SP Tommy Hanson surrendered five runs in five innings in a loss to the Astros.

  • Astros OF Justin Maxwell homered, doubled and walked against the Angels.

  • Angels OF Peter Bourjos went hitless in the leadoff spot, finishing 0-for-3 with a HBP in the loss to the Astros.

  • Mariners SP Hisashi Iwakuma won a battle of Japanese starters, allowing one run in 6 2/3 innings to defeat the Rangers.

  • Rangers SP Yu Darvish yielded three runs and three hits over six innings against the Mariners.

  • Mariners 1B Justin Smoak went 0-for-4, leaving him with a .175 average and no extra-base hits in 44 at-bats so far this season.

  • Mariners 2B Dustin Ackley went 0-for-3 after getting a couple of days off.

  • 2B Ian Kinsler went 2-for-4 and homered to give the Rangers their only run against the Mariners.

  • Twins SP Vance Worley was tattooed for nine runs (seven earned) on seven hits and two walks while retiring just three batters in a blowout loss to the Mets.

  • Twins DH Ryan Doumit had a two-run single and a walk in a loss to the Mets.

  • Blue Jays DH Adam Lind knocked in his first two runs of the season in an 8-4 win over the Royals.

  • Blue Jays SP J.A. Happ moved to 2-0 on the season by giving up four runs in five innings against the Royals.

  • Royals SP Luis Mendoza was smoked for eight runs (seven earned) in 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays.

  • Royals 3B Mike Moustakas went 0-for-3 with a walk in a loss to the Blue Jays.

  • Yankees SP CC Sabathia was impressive in a 5-2 win over the Orioles, allowing two runs (one earned) over a season-high eight innings.

  • Orioles SP Miguel Gonzalez allowed three runs (two earned) in six-plus innings in a no-decision against the Yankees.

  • Yankees 3B Kevin Youkilis went 3-for-3 with an RBI single, a run scored and a walk in a win over the Orioles.

  • Orioles C Matt Wieters went 0-for-4 with a strikeout and a run scored in a loss to the Yankees.

  • 1B Nick Swisher delivered a two-out, RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning, breaking a scoreless tie and leading the Indians to a 1-0 walk-off victory over the White Sox.

  • Indians SP Justin Masterson delivered a dazzling performance against the White Sox, firing nine scoreless innings while allowing just five hits.

  • White Sox 3B Conor Gillaspie drew another start at third base on Friday and delivered a pair of hits in a losing effort against the Indians.

  • White Sox SP Jose Quintana allowed just one hit in seven scoreless innings in a tough-luck no-decision against the Indians.

  • Mets signed LHP Sean Henn to a minor league contract.

  • Padres recalled RHP Thad Weber from Triple-A Tuscon.

  • Padres designated INF Cody Ransom for assignment.
  • Dodgers recalled RHP Shawn Tolleson from Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • Cubs 3B Josh Vitters has been placed on the disabled list with Triple-A Iowa due to back soreness.

  • Braves placed RHP Cristhian Martinez on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder sprain.

  • Dodgers signed INF Sean Burroughs to a minor league contract.

  • Pirates recalled RHP Bryan Morris from Triple-A Indianapolis.

  • Pirates designated RHP Chris Leroux for assignment.

  • Marlins signed RHP Jay Jackson.

American League:
  • Angels recalled 3B Luis Jimenez from Triple-A Salt Lake.

  • Angels optioned OF J.B. Shuck to Triple-A Salt Lake.

  • Indians optioned RHP Corey Kluber to Triple-A Columbus.

  • Indians activated DH Jason Giambi from the 15-day disabled list.

  • Indians placed RHP Matt Albers on the paternity list.

  • Indians recalled LHP Nick Hagadone from Triple-A Columbus.

  • Blue Jays sent RHP Edgar Gonzalez outright to Triple-A Buffalo.

  • Orioles transferred INF Wilson Betemit from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

  • Orioles claimed RHP Alex Burnett off waivers from the Blue Jays, optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk.

  • White Sox recalled RHP Deunte Heath from Triple-A Charlotte.

Injury Updates:

National League:

  • Mets SP Shaun Marcum (neck) is scheduled to throw a two-inning simulated game on Saturday in Port St. Lucie.

  • Padres 3B Chase Headley (thumb) went 1-for-3 with a double in his first rehab game with High-A Lake Elsinore.

  • Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said Friday that SP Wandy Rodriguez (hamstring) is still questionable to start Sunday against the Reds.

  • Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton (shoulder) will not play on Saturday.

  • Dodgers SP Zack Greinke will undergo surgery on his left collarbone Saturday and is expected to miss eight weeks.
  • Brewers 1B Alex Gonzalez was diagnosed with a left hand contusion after being hit by a pitch during Friday's game.

  • Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill (hand) was a late scratch from Friday's lineup against the Dodgers.

  • Phillies OF Delmon Young (ankle) has been progressing well in his recovery and could begin a rehab stint next week.

  • Marlins 1B Joe Mahoney (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Friday night with High-A Jupiter.

  • Brewers SS Jeff Bianchi (hip) is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment Saturday with Double-A Huntsville.

  • Cubs 3B Ian Stewart (quad) is expected to begin a rehab assignment soon.

  • Cubs 2B Darwin Barney (knee) is aiming to rejoin the Cubs' lineup on Tuesday.

American League:
  • A's OF Coco Crisp left Friday's game against the Tigers because of a strained left groin.

  • A's OF Yoenis Cespedes was removed from Friday's game in the 11th following an awkward slide into second a couple of innings earlier.
  • Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos estimated Friday that SS Jose Reyes (ankle) could miss anywhere from 1-3 months.

  • Twins SP Pedro Hernandez is considered day-to-day after leaving Friday's game against the Mets with a left calf strain.

  • Blue Jays 3B Brett Lawrie (rib cage) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Saturday with High-A Dunedin.

  • Twins SP Scott Diamond (elbow) is prepared to throw 100 pitches or more in his season debut Saturday against the Mets.

  • Twins SP Cole De Vries (forearm) is scheduled to play catch Saturday.

  • Yankees SS Eduardo Nunez is day-to-day with a right wrist contusion.
  • Orioles SP Zach Britton left his first start with Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday due to a blister on his left thumb.
  • Indians SP Scott Kazmir (rib cage) could be activated from the disabled list on April 20 against the Astros.

  • Indians C Carlos Santana (thumb) could return to game as action as soon as Saturday.

  • Rangers RP Justin Miller (elbow) is slated to begin a rehab assignment next month.

  • White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham will have surgery Tuesday to remove the hamate bone from his left hand.
  • Rays DH Luke Scott (calf) is hoping to run the bases Friday.
