Two comments after listening. First, I agreed somewhat about your take on the PED issue, in that MLB has caught most of these guys. However, I wonder if there isn't a bit of selection bias here. The authors of the Miami paper redacted a ton of names where they didn't have proof. Perhaps the positive test allowed them to run with the Grandals and Colons of the world where they otherwise may have been redacted. Again, I agree that MLB is out front of this but gets dumped on unfairly.

Second, I'm not sure Durham is particularly special in turning players into utility guys. I've followed the Toledo Mud Hens pretty closely for the better part of 12 years, and have noticed the same thing. With roster limits of 23 or 24 in AAA, teams pretty much have their hands forced into extracting multiple positional flexibility out of the guys typically in AAA.
