As I looked through the box scores and realized that there was no prospects worth writing about once again, I thought I should at least let you all know that there was a Ben Broussard sighting in the Mexican League. Who's he, you ask? If you were following the three-team trade between the Diamondbacks, Indians, and Reds closely on Twitter, you may have seen his name pop up in a few wise cracks over the course of the evening. That's because it was Broussard, a left-handed hitting first baseman with 87 homers in 705 career big league games, who was traded to the Mariners for Shin-Soo Choo back in July 2006. Now that the Indians have turned Choo's last year of team control into six years of top pitching prospect Trevor Bauer, they should be applauded since it's very likely they win both deals involving Choo.

For my latest trick, I'll be putting together a 25-man roster of Arizona Fall League stars from the past eight seasons. And here it is ...

Chip Cannon, now that is a name that brings back memories of AFL stats being overblown by a fan base. Oh to be a Jays Fan at that time.

Crazy that he had 27 HR in Double-A in 2006 and out of baseball by 2009.

Can't say that I remember Cannon, but why did I immediately think of Darin Ruf when I read this?

Dang that's a long list of players who should have been good, but really weren't.

Right, those AFL players aren't slouches. They're invited because their organization thinks very highly of them.

Forrest Snow was a revelation in 2011, too. Really fell flat in both AA and AAA this year, but his AFL numbers were crazy good that season.

True. Not sure what happened to him in 2012. I wonder if he needs to stay in a relief role to succeed.

Hmmm. Suddenly wondering if we should be worried about Mike Olt.

Not at all. There were plenty of big-time prospects who put up big numbers in the AFL. I just thought it would be more interesting to show a team of guys who haven't had big league success.

Kevin Quackenbush, now there's an addition to the all-time great names list.

The best part is that he has a big league career ahead of him so we can probably continue to enjoy the name for several years.
