The Pirates played the Cubs last night in Chicago. And this morning. The 7pm game was delayed by rain until nearly 10:45pm and didn't end until 1:30am. Sadly, there were no home runs for the roughly 1,000 fans who watched the game to chase. Foul balls were easy prey, however. Sometime after they won the game, the Pirates flew back to Pittsburgh to face the Brewers tonight. Ah, the life of a potential playoff team can be difficult in September!

Now to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Dan Uggla, Atlanta Braves – 23.05 seconds [video]
Not many home runs to choose from on Monday, with only nine hit across the league. Uggla's big blast to left gave the Braves an early 4-0 lead over Miami en route to the win. The Braves are now five games behind the Nationals for the division lead and 7.5 games ahead of the Cards for the top Wild Card spot. Their postseason is all but assured.

Slowest Trot: Matt Wieters, Baltimore Orioles – 24.11 seconds [video]
The 22nd home run of the year for Wieters ties his career best set last year. It was also the third home run in two games for the O's catcher. Monday night, he had the misfortune of making this 24-second trot on such a sparse night.

At Citi Field, Jimmy Rollins hit a home run off R.A. Dickey but stopped at third when it appeared the ball had bounced off the top of the wall. He would later score when the umpires reviewed the play.

Quickest Trot: Eric Thames, Seattle Mariners – 18.01 seconds [video]
The only trot to come in under 20-seconds. Because it was hit by Eric Thames, however, it's a very respectable 18.01 second trot. Michael Saunders, at 20.58 seconds, had the next quickest trot.
