It's been a few days since the last Tater Trot Tracker post. And though I was able to time each trot over the weekend, I missed highlighting a few special home runs. The biggest homers of note came on Saturday, when Cole Hamels served up a home run to Matt Cain in the top of the third inning and then, in the bottom of the inning, Cain returned the favor to Hamels. It was the first time two starters had hit home runs in the same inning since 1990. Hamels, who had never hit a home run before, won the race between the two pitchers, besting Cain's 21.51 second trot with a 21.13 second trot of his own.

Also over the weekend was a three home run day from Jason Kubel, whose trots were all between 21.28 seconds and 21.49 seconds. Talk about consistency. Miguel Cabrera hit his 300th home run on Sunday, joining a select group of players to have reached the milestone before their 30th birthday. Cabrera's blast was a moonshot into the camera wells beyond the centerfield wall at Comerica Park. It deserves to be seen. Jim Thome hit his 610th career home run, Ryan Zimmerman hit three home runs over the three days, and Adrian Gonzalez pushed his way into the ten slowest trots of the year with a 28.28 second stroll on Sunday (video).

It was a good weekend. Now let's get to Monday's trots!

Home Run of the Day: Mike Napoli, Texas Rangers – 23.94 seconds [video]
Napoli gets the honor today thanks to his monster blast to leftfield. It was no Miguel Cabera #300, but it was still a thrill to watch.

Slowest Trot: Carlos Gonzalez, Colorado Rockies – 25.66 seconds [video]
It seems a bit out of character for CarGo to find himself here. Before Monday, Gonzalez's slowest trot of the year was 24.4 seconds. Something about the ninth-inning, down-by-four, solo blast kept Gonzalez on the bases quite a bit longer than usual.

Ryan Howard's home run against the Brewers had some confusion on the field, causing Howard to stop at second. Because of this, his trot was not clockable. Mike Napoli and Alex Rios also had non-qualifying trots over the weekend.

Quickest Trot: Chase Utley, Philadelphia Phillies – 18.8 seconds [video]
Utley barely edges Colorado's Josh Rutledge for the quickest trot of the night. Rutledge clocked in at 18.85 seconds on his first career home run.
