It's been a while since we've had a regular update of the Tater Trot Tracker, but that should be over now. Baseball is back in the everyday swing of things and so am I. Which is great because we don't want to risk missing any more 30-second or 13-second trots.

Home Run of the Day: Ryan Howard, Philadelphia Phillies – 24.11 seconds [video]
Philly fans have to be thrilled to see Ryan Howard finally hit the first home run of his $125 million extension. After being injured all season, Howard's first home run of 2012 came six games and 20 at-bats into his year and proved to be the game-winner.

Slowest Trot: Hanley Ramirez, Miami Marlins – 26.37 seconds [video]
Ramirez's first tater trot since his half-minute trot to start the month was good enough for the slowest of the day by over a second. It still managed to be nearly four seconds quicker than the July 1 trot. Adrian Gonzalez owned the next slowest trot of the day, coming home in 25.14 seconds.

Quickest Trot: Russell Martin, New York Yankees – 19.75 seconds [video]
Of the 22 home runs hit on Monday, Martin's was the only one to clock in under 20 seconds. Seattle's Dustin Ackley barely missed the mark with a 20.07 second trot, with Los Angeles' Mark Trumbo a hair's breadth behind at 20.12 seconds.

I wonder if any TV stations have sold this time, as in "This Tater Trot brought to you by Ore-Ido Tater Tots?"
