I'd like to thank Kevin Goldstein, Dave Pease and the entire Baseball Prospectus staff for bestowing upon me the responsibility of running the day-to-day operations of the company. I'm honored and grateful for the opportunity, and I look forward to helping enhance and develop our product offerings each and every day. We've accomplished a great deal this past year through the hard work of all those you see—and some that you don't see—working on the site. There's plenty more to come, and I can assure you we're already working hard on our 2012 product offerings, partnerships, and events. As my colleagues can attest, I am a firm believer in setting goals and getting things done. We want to make this the best Baseball Prospectus we can for you, our readers. That said, my virtual door is always open, so please feel free to e-mail me (jhamrahi at baseballprospectus.com) feedback, ideas, and suggestions. I love to know what people are thinking, and I personally answer each and every message I receive.

But I'm not the only person in a new position here at BP. Taking over as Finance Director of Prospectus Entertainment Ventures is someone who is new to the company but whose name will sound familiar to most of you. Effective December 1, John Viola will be handling all accounting and administrative functions for PEV. Keeping with the baseball theme, John just happens to be the younger brother of former American League Cy Young award winner and World Series MVP, Frank Viola.

I've had the privilege of knowing John for almost 15 years, and not only is he one of the smartest and hardest working individuals I know, but he's also one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. However, he does not throw the circle change, so no need to ask.

Please join me in welcoming John Viola to our team. He is sure to fit right in with the rest of our all-stars.

And thank YOU all for your continued support. Remember to stay tuned to Baseball Prospectus for plenty of off-season coverage as we count down the days to the start of spring training.

Thank you for reading

A tip of the cap and a hearty congratulations are in order for Bossman Joe, aka The Godfather of BDD. The townsfolk can sleep peacefully, knowing that the future is bright in BP land.

And welcome to the team, Johnny V! Your uniform is in the locker at the end of the row, right next to the PECOTA machine.

(*raises a glass*)

Cheers!

Congratulations. I hope you're highly successful and take a good product to greater heights.
I'm not always big on revisiting the past....you gotta move ahead....but with that said, you could lure Joe Sheehan back.

Why stop there? Why not ask for Nate Silver, Keith Law, or any number of illustrious alumni of BP? I think the present crew is as good as any they've had.

Welcome John! I'm a Mets fan that fondly remembers Frank's days with the Mets in the 90s.

Does this mean that Goldstein's the next guy exiting stage left?

Did you even read his blog post yesterday?

No, I do not read every single word written on this site. My comment was to *this* article and the fact that several big name BP writers have left over the past couple of years. It's a reasonable question.

No, Kevin is not leaving. In fact, this move will enable him to focus on his content, the podcast and the SiriusXM show even more.

Hi Joe, I hope you will be doing a 2012 "top-prospects-compilation" again this year.

Lots of us rely on your compilation for our annual drafts!

Thanks,

Alan
