Five games, including two doubleheaders, were canceled on Saturday due to Hurricane Irene. That didn't do much to affect our home run total, though, as there were still 32 home runs hit around the league.

Let's get to those trots!

Home Run of the Day: Jim Thome, Cleveland Indians – 25.63 seconds [video]
Jim Thome is back playing in Cleveland. He was celebrating his 41st birthday on Saturday. Naturally, Thome celebrated his birthday by hitting his first home run as an Indian in nine years. The crowd was quite obviously pleased.

Slowest Trot: David Ortiz, Boston Red Sox – 26.72 seconds [video]
Big Papi at the top of the lists yet again. Yawn. Thome had the next slowest trot, but was still a full-second behind Papi. Next on the list is James Loney at 24.9 seconds.

Quickest Trot: Alejandro De Aza, Chicago White Sox – 17.57 seconds [video]
A lovely little sprint from Chicago's De Aza, who sprints in at 17.57 seconds. Three other trotters would have had a good shot at the Quickest Trot if it weren't for De Aza, with Brandon Allen, Mike Trout, and Eric Thames each coming in near the 19.0 mark.

Larry - I want to thank your column for giving me a different perspective of the enjoyment I get out of watching Eric Thames play baseball.
