Going through the home run list prior to timing the trots, it seemed like a pretty typical Saturday. A home run here and there, maybe two or three home runs in every other game or so. And then I got down to the Padres/Reds game, where eight home runs were hit – seven by Cincinnati! That ball was just flying out of Great American Ballpark yesterday afternoon, especially off the bats of Miguel Cairo and Ryan Hanigan, who had two home runs apiece. You just can't explain things sometimes.

Let's get to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Dan Uggla, Atlanta Braves – 20.25 seconds [video]
Uggla's home run didn't set off any more fireworks on Saturday (probably because Carlos Zambrano wasn't at the stadium this time), but he continues to play like a man possessed. Just like on Friday, Uggla extended his hitting streak in his first at-bat and then, later, hit a home run to put the icing on the cake.

Slowest Trot: Paul Konerko, Chicago White Sox – 26.81 seconds [video]
Konerko had some good company atop the slowest trot charts on Saturday, with Vladimir Guerrero and Asdrubal Cabera each making their case. Konerko won out, of course, but at least his leg does seem to be getting better. It wasn't a 29-second trot, after all.

Quickest Trot: Blake Davis, Baltimore Orioles – 17.08 seconds [video]
This very well could have been the Home Run of the Day. Davis' fly ball barely cleared the fence in leftfield as Detroit leftfielder Andy Dirks bounced off the wall leaping for the ball. The ball immediately bounced into play, but Dirks let it be. Davis, meanwhile, was running his hardest around the bases, unsure if it was in play or not. In the end, the play was reviewed and ruled a home run (despite Davis having scored standing up). It was Davis' first career home run.
