It's been a surprisingly busy summer for me, with a lot more travel than I expected. This week, for example, work found me in the Chicago area for two days (and one baseball-less night), preventing me from doing the Tater Trot Tracker the last couple of days. I've caught up with the last few nights below, including a couple of brilliant celebrations from Brett Lawrie and Chris Young.

Let's get to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Dan Uggla #2, Atlanta Braves – 20.37 seconds [video]
Not only did Dan Uggla extend his hitting streak to 32 games earlier in the day with his first home run, but this second home run also marked the boiling point for Chicago pitcher Carlos Zambrano. Uggla's home run was the second end of a back-to-back (with Freddie Freeman) in the fifth inning, marking the fifth home run given up by Zambrano. The next batter was Chipper Jones, who Zambrano threw at twice before getting ejected by the home plate umpire. Big Z then went into the clubhouse, cleared out his locker and left, telling the clubhouse manager that he was retiring. Who knows what will really happen with Zambrano here, but the events that transpired after Uggla's blast are certainly enough to make it the Home Run of the Day.

Slowest Trot: David Ortiz, Boston Red Sox – 26.56 seconds [video]
David Ortiz hit two home runs over the last three days, and had the slowest home run of the day both days. The real memorable trot came on Thursday, though, when Russell Branyan hit his third home run of the season (and first since July 3). Branyan may be even more remarkably slow than Big Papi, considering the size of the two men. Thursday's trot, for example, was 29.15 seconds for no other reason than Branyan enjoys his trots. If only we could start seeing more trots from The Muscle again.

Quickest Trot: Eric Thames, Toronto Blue Jays – 16.6 seconds [video]
There were no shortage of quick trots these past few days, with Wednesday giving us five different 18-second trots and Friday giving us an 18.32 second trot from Vernon Wells and a 17.56 second trot from Jose Constanza. But Eric Thames will not be stopped, sprinting around to a breezy 16.6 second trot, beating out even Curtis Granderson and Peter Bourjos.
