It's late on Sunday afternoon so let's just get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Matt Joyce, Tampa Bay Rays – 21.23 seconds [video]
Maybe I say this too much, but this has to be one of my favorite kinds of home runs. On the pitch prior to hitting this home run, Joyce laced a foul ball down the first base line. Except, before heading down the line, the ball smacked hard into Joyce's right knee. He crumbled to the ground in pain (though it seemed to take the announcers a moment to realize that). Joyce got back into the box and, on the next pitch, launched the ball over the rightfield fence to bring the Rays to within two. It looks no different in the scorebook, of course, but those plays are always worth highlighting.

Slowest Trot: Lyle Overbay, Pittsburgh Pirates – 25.15 seconds [video]
The Pirates are in first place. Clearly, that weight is heavy on Overbay's shoulders as he jogs around the bases after his latest home run. That, or Lyle Overbay is kind of a slow trotter. It could go either way, really.

Quickest Trot: Orlando Hudson, San Diego Padres – 18.22 seconds [video]
Hudson comes in with the quickest trot of the day, at 18.22 seconds. Funny thing is, it could have been much quicker. He was clearly slowed down in the last 30 feet by the runner on base and then took a moment on his last few steps. The better home run from this Giants/Padres game, though, came from the bat of Jesus Guzman. Guzman was rounding the bases on his tater trot when the Padres' color announcer said "Praise Jesus!" (complete with English pronunciation). It felt kind of awkward (video).
