The first full day of games of the second half gave us a good range of home runs, from grand slams and walkoffs to a two home run game from trot-extraordinaire Chris Heisey. Not a bad re-introduction to the season.

Now let's get to those trots!

Home Run of the Day: Brandon Phillips, Cincinnati Reds – 23.2* seconds [video]
Cardinals fans aren't exactly in love with Brandon Phillips these days. After his walkoff trot on Friday, I suspect he's shot up to public enemy #1 in Cardinals Nation (just ahead of Prince Joffrey). I, of course, loved his home run trot. Walkoffs are all about excitement and joy, and Phillips' trot showed just that. Just because a player is celebrating something doesn't mean he's showing up his opponents. Too many people don't remember that when they see their team lose.

Slowest Trot: Asdrubal Cabrera, Cleveland Indians – 26.14 seconds [video]
Pop quiz: there is a 26-second trot from one of these three players – Juan Rivera, Miguel Cabrera, and Asdrubal Cabrera. Which one is it? One hundred times out of 100, my money would be on Miguel or Rivera. On Friday, those two had a pair of 22-second trots while Asdrubal nearly reached a half-minute. Things are funny sometimes.

Quickest Trot: Chris Heisey #2, Cincinnati Reds – 17.58 seconds [video]
It's a rare day to find three different trots come in under 18-seconds, and it's especially rare to see a grand slam come in that fast. Chris Heisey has always been one of the fastest trotters in the league, so it's not too surprising that his pair of home runs on Friday each came in in the 17-second range. Ben Zobrist has also always been a pretty quick trotter, but the near 18-second grand slam trot is still pretty surprising. With three runners on base all taking their own path around the bases, one is usually bound to slow the trotter down. Zobrist was lucky enough not to have that happen, giving us a pretty special day for speedy trots.
