There were only eight games on the slate yesterday, yet somehow there managed to be twenty home runs hit around the league. I suppose those who did play were just trying to make up for all the teams who had the day to rest.

Let's get to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Casey Blake, Los Angeles Dodgers – 22.07 seconds [video]
The Dodgers absolutely demolished the Twins on Monday, rapping out 25 hits en route to a 15-0 shutout. Only three of those hits were home runs, but Blake gets the honor of Home Run of the Day because his home run gave the Dodgers an 11-0 lead. On the day that the club filed for bankruptcy, an 11-spot seemed rather appropriate.

Slowest Trot: Aramis Ramirez #1, Chicago Cubs – 25.27 seconds [video]
The other big game on the slate Monday. There were six home runs hit in this Rockies/Cubs match hit by three players. Each of the players – Ramirez, Carlos Pena, Carlos Gonzalez – smacked two home runs. Ramirez, however, was the only one to end with the two slowest trots of the day.

Quickest Trot: Michael Morse, Washington Nationals – 19.0 seconds [video]
I keep waiting for Michael Morse to stop hitting home runs, but it just doesn't seem to be happening. He can so much as breathe on a ball and it'll find its way over the wall. What makes it even better is that he can routinely bust out a quick trot like this, edging Ryan Ludwick for the quickest trot of the day.
