We're very happy to announce our first fan event of the 2011 season!

Baseball Prospectus and the Tampa Bay Rays invite you to join us for a great day of baseball on Saturday, June 18 at Tropicana Field. Thanks to the fine folks in the Rays front office, we are proud to be able to offer our guests the following:

  • Admittance to a private "meet and greet" with special guests and Baseball Prospectus personalities 2 hours prior to game time.
  • A 60-90 minute question and answer session with baseball operations personnel from the Tampa Bay Rays.
  • Baseline box seat ticket to watch the Rays take on the Florida Marlins with Baseball Prospectus fans and staff.
  • A $15 coupon to be used toward a new Baseball Prospectus Premium subscription or your next Premium renewal.

Fans are encouraged to bring their own food (peanuts, Cracker Jack, etc.) into Tropicana Field. Festivities begin at 5:10 PM with a game start time of 7:10. Guests should pick up their tickets at the Baseball Prospectus table outside Gate 4.

Price: $30

I'm a Marlins fan in the middle of Illinois...
I love me some BP writers...
I like saving money on future subscriptions...

I REALLY need to find a way to get to this. Think Springfield offers direct-to-Tampa flights?

If you can get to Midway; there is direct non-stop via Southwest available.

I am a 4 hour drive away -- and I plan to be there. I will stay overnight before heading home. Is there any hotel block discount arrangements being made?

Allegiant Air flies directly into Ste Pete from Moline, Peoria, or Rockford. Airport is 10 minutes from Trop

I'm lucky enough to live 10 minutes from the Trop and I can't wait. Will the tickets be mailed out or at Will Call?
