Without much going in the world of baseball, we celebrate our listeners with a longer than normal email segment, including some tips on how we learn from scouts. Following that we go in-depth on the Dodgers and Angels systems, including some disagreement over Dee Gordon and a long talk about what kind of player Mike Trout can be in the end. The only big move of the week was the signing of Adrian Beltre, and Jason breaks down what that means for the Rangers, and how the signing meant more bad news for Angels fans. With it being Hall of Fame week, our special guest is our own Jay Jaffe, and there's no better expert in the business on who should (and shouldn't) be in when measuring performance. It's a long, highly entertaining, and informative discussion about numerous recent candidates, with a quick bit of trivia thrown in as well. Then, to make sure the show is really long again, we have a second special guest with Mike Ferrin of MLB Network Radio to discuss the channel, his career and his side gig as the occasional voice of the Double-A Bowie Baysox. And of course, we finish with the goofy stuff, including an inside look at one of Jason's many psychoneurosis. As always, we hope you enjoy.

Note: We do alert you to the presence of the occasional adult language. Don't say we didn't warn you.

I have no control over iTunes, all I can do is tell Apple I've updated the feed. It's taken six minutes, it's taken 16 hours. Now, what you can ALWAYS do is manually update the podcast in iTunes and you'll update locally and download the new episode. If you see it listed here, you're ready to go.

Love the prospect talk boys, love it! Great work on explaining the scouting too. One of the best podcasts to date.

Honestly, I'm a huge fan of most of the BP stuff, but the Podcast is the best feature and this episode is a great example what's so great about it.

That's very kind of you. Obviously, Jason and I are having a blast, and frankly, we're kind of blown away by the reception.

Second the "love the prospect talk" comment above. Looking forward to (hopefully) comparably long Top 11 discussions on forthcoming lists.

Believe you mentioned on the podcast that M Trout is 1 of 3 prospects you considered for the #1 overall prospect honor. I'm trying to think thru who the other 2 under consideration could have been: Chapman (presuming he's still a prospect), Julio Teheran, Bryce Harper, Jesus Montero, Pineda, Moutsakas.

My money is on Chapman and ... hmm ... Teheran.

At the get-together on the 29th, I do hope someone brings the Mexican Coke, and some Boing!
