Let today's Krol/Arnett feature serve as the big write-ups today – sorry folks, today is going to be a busy one.

Others Of Note:

  • Nolan Arenado, 3B, Rockies (Low-A Asheville): 2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI, K.  10-for-22 in six games; Sally League getting nice talent influx with the warmer weather.
  • Blake Beavan, RHP, Rangers (Double-A Frisco): 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K.  Scout: "People only talk about what he can't do, or how he isn't doing what they think he should; I don't care, he's going to throw 200 innings a year in the big leagues."
  • Zach Britton, LHP, Orioles (Double-A Bowie): 7 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K.  Also had 12 groundball outs and season long ratio of nearly 3-to-1.  Really just a tick behind Tillman and Arrieta, and I know one scout who thinks he's better than both.
  • Wilmer Font, RHP, Rangers (High-A Bakersfield): 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K.  Big on stuff, but low on consistency; this is what happens when he's on.  An impressive performance for a pitcher who just turned 20.
  • Anthony Gose, OF, Phillies (High-A Clearwater): 2-for-4, 2B, 2 R, RBI, K, SB (20).  Showing some signs of life with .286/.353/.429 line in May, but successful on just three of last eight stolen bases.
  • Nick Hagadone, LHP, Indians (High-A Kinston): 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 6 K.  45 whiffs in 37 2/3. Innings, but also 29 walks.  Stuff is nasty as nearly anyone in the league, but not efficient enough to get into late innings.
  • Brett Jackson, OF, Cubs (High-A Daytona): 2-for-4, HR (2), 2 R, 2 RBI, BB, 2 K.  Power might be coming around; even without it he's at .301/.423/.442.
  • Casey Kelly, RHP, Red Sox (Double-A Portland): 5 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 4 K.  It's not like he's been bad by any stretch, but there has been far less dominance than expected with more than a hit per innings allowed and a surprisingly elevated walk rate.
  • Jason Kipnis, 2B, Indians (High-A Kinston): 2-for-4, 3B, 2 RBI, K. By all accounts, he's playing a pretty solid second base, and his .302/.375/.451 line is giving scouts even more cause for optimism.
  • Bryan Morris, RHP, Pirates (Double-A Altoona): 5.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 6 K.  No bump in road with promotion; if he keeps rolling, he'll get a long look next spring.
  • Kirk Nieuwenhuis, OF, Mets (Double-A Binghamton): 2-for-5, 2B, HR (7), 2 R, RBI, K.  Capitan Kirk has three home runs in last five games and overall line of .302/.337/.500.
  • Dennis Raben, OF, Mariners (High-A High Desert): 2-for-2, 2 HR (2), 4 R, 5 RBI, 4 BB.  High Desert with a 20-30 mph wind blowing out sure is a fun place to make your California League debut, huh?
  • Wilkin Ramirez, OF, Tigers (Double-A Erie): 3-for-4, 3 HR (13), 3 R, 4 RBI, BB.  Seemingly buried by the Tigers due to inability to figure out an approach; at 25 he's still some kind of prospect.
  • Tony Sanchez, C, Pirates (High-A Bradenton): 3-for-3, 2 R, RBI.  Shoulder is healthy, he's hitting well, no reason he shouldn't be in Double-A by the second half…if not earlier.
  • Jonathan Singleton, 1B, Phillies (Low-A Lakewood): 2-for-5, 2B, R, RBI, K.  Hits in 13 of 14 games since joining BlueClaws; .429/.508/.755 overall.
  • Julio Teheran, RHP, Braves (High-A Myrtle Beach): 6 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 K.  ERA is now 1.03 in nine starts across Low/High-A; 19-year-old could reach big leagues as early as late 2011.
  • Mark Trumbo, 1B, Angels (Triple-A Salt Lake): 2-for-5, HR (11), 2 R, RBI, K.  Four home runs in last seven games; needs more batting average and walks to project as an everyday big leaguer.
