--The New York Daily News' John Harper writes that CC Sabathia's dusting of Dustin Pedroia showed the toughness of the Yankees.

--The St. Paul Pioneer Press' Tom Powers writes that Francisco Liriano's first loss wasn't his fault.

--The Seattle Times' Larry Stone writes that teams are reluctant to deal with the Mariners, who need a hitter.

I wonder if Harper noticed that Sabathia ended up costing his team two runs and made himself throw 15 extra pitches in the process.

From the Shaughnessy piece:
"It looks like those sun-deprived stat geeks eating pudding in their basement (the same nitwits who insist that homers and RBIs are overrated) outsmarted themselves in assessing this unit."

He's exhausting. Also, I must have missed the day we "stat geeks" proclaimed HRs to be overrated.
